Below are common questions.
Do I need an appointment?
We generally work by appointment only. There are exceptions & we can sometimes “work you in” between appointments if time allows. During our busy time we are usually booked out at least a week in advance, so call early to make your appointment!
Can you file an extension for me?
What do I need to bring?
If you are a new client, please bring a copy of your “last year” tax return. We will need your W-2’s, 1099’s, and any & all statements pertaining to income & deductions.
When will I get my refund?
As a rule, if we electronically file your return you should expect your refund in 2-3 weeks. We recommend Direct Deposit because it is faster & safer. If you choose to mail your return you need to allow 6-8 weeks, & sometimes longer.
How much does it cost?
Our basic fees begin at $70 for Federal & One State. We charge by the forms needed to complete your return. Our fees are usually about half of what they are at a major tax office franchise.
Can I pay for services after I get my refund?
Payment is expected at the time of service & the return cannot be filed electronically until payment is received. We accept Cash, Check, Debit, MC, Visa, & Discover Credit Cards.
Can we take our fee out of the expected refund?
We definitely can in most cases, ask your preparer for more information.
What happens if I get Audited or receive a letter from the state or IRS?
We will be here for you! If we prepared the return we will represent you at no additional charge. The IRS set limits on what we as preparers can & cannot do; but we will do our best to resolve any issues you might encounter. Never automatically PAY anyone if you receive a letter! Give us a call to review the situation. Many times the IRS or State is wrong!!
Can I just “drop-off my taxes”?
Yes, absolutely! The front desk will ask you a few questions & make sure we have your contact information. Many of our clients prefer to drop-off. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing though, as we do the drop-offs in the order they are received & in between scheduled appointments. You will still need to come in to sign the necessary documents & to take care of your fee for service.
